Graduate React Web Developer

We are now interviewing for a Web Developer with React experience. £18,000 to £24,000 salary with annual individual/company performance bonuses.

Who we are looking for

We're looking for an innovative, self-motivated individual who is creative and has a strong sense of entrepreneurship about them. Someone who can demonstrate a reliable standard for design and development on the frontend and a basic understanding of the backend. They should have a decent portfolio and an active GitHub to back their CV. They should be able to independently (as well as working in a small team) build front end websites from the ground up that are responsive and robust.

What you'll be doing

You'll be joining our technical team of five to work on innovative React.js projects on several large-scale projects alongside other internal project and client websites/platforms. The main focus of the role will be creating bespoke websites from the ground up, focusing on UX and UI and improving existing user journeys.

More precisely, you'll be working with our two designers to follow their designs from Adobe XD and develop them into a reality. Most React websites we make are built using Gatsby.js, or if not, are built with SSR for larger projects. Nearly every website we create is powered by one of our Node.js REST APIs, so we would expect you to be comfortable working with APIs.

You'll be joining the development team to help handle our increasing workload. This will most likely involve working on our flagship Skipper My Boat platform, our highly successful Annual Gundies Awards and our SaaS platforms such as the Merlin Panel (and two others launching in 2020). We're looking to make all our products something we're proud to show off, and we want you to share that same high standard of design and development.

Where you'll be working

This role is based on the Ipswich waterfront, you will be joining us in a co-working office where we work from called the Ipswich Waterfront Innovation Centre. We work here because it's a high-tech, modern environment which allows us to collaborate with other businesses and network within the local community.

Sitting inside the University of Suffolk campus and right on the waterfront, it's just under a 20-minute walk from Ipswich Train Station and an 8-minute walk into the town centre. There are plenty of shops and restaurants along/near the marina, and Cardinal Park at the end of the waterfront with a large cinema, more restaurants and our company gym, all located within a short walk.

Ipswich is a 20-minute drive from Colchester, a 40-minute drive from both Bury St Edmunds and Chelmsford, as well as an hour's drive from Norwich. From London Liverpool Street, Ipswich station is a 60-90 train journey.
